Winter Food Drive for Low-Income Students

Thursday, December 8, through Friday, January 20, in the Student Center

A group of staff, students, and faculty are organizing a food drive to provide food for students staying on campus or in Portland over winter break. Given that many campus facilities have more limited hours over the break, including Commons, some students may not have consistent access to secure food sources. We will be collecting food throughout the break, and the food will be available for students to pick up at the Student Center.

If you have non-perishable food goods (no refrigerated items, please) that you would be willing to donate to low-income Reed students staying over winter break, please drop them off in the Student Center between Thursday, December 8, and Friday, January 20. You can bring items to the box outside Dayspring Mattole's office (Student 110).

Students: food items will be available in the Student Center and can be picked up Monday through Friday in the kitchen, 8:30-5 p.m. Please be honorable and only take what you need, prioritizing students experiencing financial hardship.

Questions about the drive, about accessing the food, or about the overall initiative can be directed to Dayspring Mattole (mattoled@reed.edu).

For more information, contact Dayspring Mattole.
