Ann Cooper Albright presents an introductory class in contact improvisation—a partner dance form in which the give and take of weight and support constitutes a physical conversation, an artistic practice, and an exploration of how one lives in the body. Albright is a professor of dance and chair of the department at Oberlin College, where she teaches a variety of courses in dance, performance studies, and gender studies that seek to engage both practices and theories of the body. She also is the author of several books, including Engaging Bodies: the Politics and Poetics of Corporeality.
