Tin House Summer Workshop: 2017 Reed College Scholarship

Reed and Tin House will once again be offering one student the opportunity to attend Tin House's summer workshop, which be held on campus from July 9–16. Tin House will be taking applications in short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. To submit, students will need to apply via Submittable, the online submissions manager. Students will need to sign up for a Submittable account, which is free. 

Interested in receiving a scholarship to the 2017 Tin House Summer Workshop? If so, please submit the following online by May 25:

1) A 500-1000 word essay describing what you are currently working on, how you hope an experience at our conference will benefit your writing, and any other personal information that you feel like we should know about you. Think of this as nothing more than an introduction to who you are and where you’re coming from as a writer.

2) Writing Sample 

For Short Fiction/ Creative Nonfiction: Up to 5,000 words, of no more than two samples. Double-spaced/12pt font.

For Poetry: Up to five poems, of no more than 10 pages. No formatting requirements, 2017
Please note: If accepted into the program, you will have an opportunity to switch out your manuscript.
