Stephen Ostrow Distinguished Visitors Program in the Visual Arts: Dario Gamboni, “Paul Gauguin, the ‘Listening Eye’ and the Universality of Art”

Dario Gamboni, professor of art history at the Université de Genève and research councilor for art history of the Swiss National Science Foundation, comes to Reed as a Stephen E. Ostrow Distinguished Visitor in the Arts. Gamboni is an honorary member of the Institut Universitaire de France, Meret Oppenheim Prize 2006, and was a Fellow at CASVA, the Henry Moore Institute, and the Clark Art Institute. He has been a visiting instructor at several universities around the world and has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions, most recently Damage Control: Art and Destruction Since 1950, soon to open at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C.
