Sociolinguistic Artifacts

This video discusses how immigrants may be keeping a "past" version of their native language and culture, since language and culture in their home country change without this change reaching them. It would be interesting to do an apparent-time study on communities that may have actually "preserved" language from the past, perhaps comparing young people's language to the language of older immigrants who left when they were young.
