Kara currently teaches a fall lecture-lab course in Developmental Biology (BIO351L), spring seminars exploring topics of sensory system development and community-engaged neurodevelopment (BIO 431), and a section of Reed's introductory Biology sequence, Topics in Biology (BIO 102L). Students interested in contributing to on-going investigations of proliferation and differentiation control, eye and visual system development, or other topics related to developmental biology are encouraged to contact Kara about research possibilities in her lab, including summer internships and/or Thesis (BIO 471).
In addition, based on her strong interest in science writing and communication, Kara has advised students interested in scientific writing and enjoys working with people in the arts and sciences to bring developmental and cellular biology to a wider audience.
