Jan Mieszkowski teaches German and Comparative Literature at Reed College. He is the author of Labors of Imagination: Aesthetics and Political Economy from Kant to Althusser (Fordham 2006), Watching War (Stanford 2012), and Crises of the Sentence (Chicago 2019). Jan's new monograph, Botany by the Book: Green Philology and the Textual Lives of Plants, is forthcoming with the University of Chicago Press.
