NamePhilosophical Society
Description

The aim of the Philosophical Society is to provide those who are interested in philosophy an opportunity to:

(1) explore topics that are not formally covered in philosophy classes at Reed. These include: interdisciplinary approaches to philosophical problems, topics in continental philosophy, biographical insight into the lives of major figures,.. etc.

(2) expand on and explore, in greater depth, topics that are covered in Philosophy classes.

To do this, we have invited thesising seniors and professors from the philosophy, history, political science, and psychology departments to give evening lectures every week. We also hold a philosophy lounge where students can access drop-in tutoring.
