SAPR stewards are friendly, sober, supportive presences in bright yellow t-shirts at student-coordinated dances and other events at Reed. These trained student staff and volunteers don't enforce policies, but are there to be helpful in a wide variety of situations, including unwanted sexual aggression.
Stewards are confidential resources, and will not share names or identities of people seeking their help without permission. At least one member of each pair is a trained SAPR advocate. They can contact community safety officers on behalf of people who would like intervention, but who don't want to make the call themselves. They also carry candy and gum to give out, so feel free to stop by and say hi!
If you'd like to request stewards at your Reed event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the date and time of your event. The captain will follow up with you.
Being a steward is a great way to get involved in your community. Look for our hiring announcement at the beginning of February!
