Veterans Education Benefits

This webpage is intended to provide information and assistance to prospective and current students who are eligible to receive VA education benefits. The College recognizes your service to our country and hopes to assist you in achieving your educational goals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is your best source for information about all VA educational benefits programs. You can also contact the VA directly at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or by email on the VA website. Please contact the Department of Veterans Affairs for help in identifying the benefits for which you qualify.

Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows institutions of higher learning in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate which the VA will cover. Reed will fund up to 15 undergraduate students who qualify for the Yellow Ribbon program with institutional funding according to the requirements of the program. These will be granted on a first come/first served basis. If you qualify for the program, please contact John Colgrove in the Registrar’s Office to determine if space is available in the program.

Once a student has begun using VA education benefits, they will automatically be certified each term provided the student remains in good academic standing and continues to make satisfactory academic progress toward graduation.
