The use of computers to enhance Reed course work is no longer the exclusive province of mathematicians and natural scientists. Faculty members in all areas of the arts and humanities have begun to actively integrate computer technology into their courses, going way beyond email and word processing. Their technology demands can rival, or even exceed, those in the more traditionally computer-intensive disciplines. With the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the dean of the faculty's development fund, several exciting new projects allow faculty members to take advantage of computing technology to teach the arts and humanities.
