Chinese Typing Help
In order to type Chinese character, you'll need an Input Method Editor, or IME. Both Macs and PCs now come with IMEs installed; you can activate them through your keyboard layout settings. Follow the directions below.
The most popular Chinese character IMEs are pinyin based, so to enter a character, begin typing it phonetically.
As you type, common characters will appear in a box below your cursor.
You may either continue typing, allowing the IME to select the appropriate character for the pinyin you've entered, or you may select from character list in the IME box.
