Recruitment Process

Recruiting a new team member is one of the most important parts of your job, and it can be fun. The average tenure of a Reed staff member is greater than 8 years, so selecting the best qualified person is critical.

Having a candidate pool that’s diverse—in ethnicity and in all aspects of diversity—is the key to a successful search. It’s imperative to build your candidate pool ahead of time, so you’re making contacts and meeting prospective team members year-round. If you wait to start building your candidate pool when you have an opening, it’s already too late.

A successful recruitment is one that proceeds quickly and results in the top candidate accepting your offer. From the day you open the position until the day your new team member arrives can be 90 days or more.

At the outset of your recruitment, HR will help you plan your search strategy and timeline. There are six steps in the staff recruitment process. Click on each step to the left to see the protocols.
