Visiting Search for Comparative Politics (Spring 2021)

Applications are invited for a visiting appointment in Political Science with a specialization in Comparative Politics for Spring 2021, with a preference for candidates who can teach upper-level courses in Latin American Politics. Visitors are usually appointed at the assistant professor level, but more advanced candidates are encouraged to apply. The salary is competitive.

We seek candidates to teach two courses during the spring semester. We have a strong preference for a candidate who has experience and/or can teach a course about Social Movements/Contentious Politics and a course about Latin American Politics (previous courses focused on Human Rights, Political Violence, and Gender and Politics). We expect the Ph.D. to be in hand, or near completion, by the start of the appointment. Above all, we seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Due to COVID, both courses may be taught online. Information on the department is available at http://academic.reed.edu/poli_sci/.
