Technical Support Resources

Reed is modifying computing and information services (CIS) during the 2020–21 academic year to support students, faculty, and staff and ensure compliance with health regulations. Details and updates are available on Reed's CIS COVID-19 information page.  

  • Help desk and residence hall network support will be provided remotely through chat, email, video conference, and other means.
  • Software that is customarily available in labs will be made available through virtual computer labs.
  • Audiovisual services will focus on classroom support (nonacademic AV needs will be outsourced as necessary).

Computers and Associated Equipment

Students

All students need a computer that meets minimum recommendations, whether they live in residence halls or off campus. Reed provides information on how to purchase or borrow computer equipment.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff who need a computer or iPad to support their college work may make a computer equipment request.

Administrative offices that need computing equipment for remote student workers should contact Computer Hardware Services. Additional equipment may be available after academic needs are met.

Faculty and staff can also purchase personal computers and accessories at educational prices. Visit Reed's online Apple Store to place an order and have it shipped directly to you. Contact the Reed computer store to ask questions or make an appointment.

Instructional Technology Services

The Remote Teaching and Learning web pages provide information and resources to support faculty and students in using technology tools for teaching, learning, and scholarship. Faculty can contact the remote teaching team for assistance with course-related technology needs.
