Trimming Videos in Ensemble

Once you have recorded a video, you can use Ensemble to trim the beginning or ending of your video, or remove a middle portion of a video.

Using the Trim Tool

Navigate to ensemble.reed.edu and log in. Locate the media that you wish to create a clip from, and select the Edit option beneath it.

Select the Trim and Chop tab near the top right of the window.

In the embedded media player, find the point in the media which you wish to start the clip; below the clip, make sure the Trim tab is selected, and press the Start Trim button. The time code should appear in the box next to the button. Find the end point of your clip in the player and press the End Trim button.

Use the title box (beneath the start and end times) to name the clip, and then click Save clip (button, center of screen). Be sure to click on the Save Clip button, otherwise the clip will not be saved.

After you have saved your clip, a window should pop up allowing you to create more clips, edit the title, or go back to the media library.

When you return to the media library, the new clip should appear.
