Accessing Network Preferences

There are two ways to access, view, and change your network preferences on a Mac.

Accessing Preferences via the Apple Menu

  1. Click on the Apple logo on the left hand side of the menu bar.  apple menu bar

  3. The System Preferences menu should open up. When it does, select the network option. system preferences network icon
  4. The Network Preferences window should then open. network preferences open window

Accessing Preferences via the Network Icon

  1. Click on the WiFi symbol on the right hand side of the menu bar. wifi icon menubar
  2. Select "Open Network Preferences" at the bottom of the menu bar that pops up. open network preferences from wifi icon in the menubar
  3. The Network Preferences window should then open. the open network preferences window
