Internal Letters of Recommendation
Please note: Four total letters of recommendation will be required for the external application.
You will need to complete this online waiver form as the final step in submitting your internal application.
Applicants submitting application materials electronically by email will generally receive a confirmation within twenty-four hours. If you do not receive a confirmation during this time, please follow up with the Center for Life Beyond Reed at firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure that the application was successfully submitted.
You should hear back within a week whether or not you've been selected for an endorsement by the committee and Reed College.
If you are endorsed, you will need to begin work on the online application from the Mitchell Scholarship website. A member of the fellowships & awards committee will need to meet with you to get context for the endorsement letter that will be included with your application. You'll need to add your recommenders to your online application and reach out to them to let them know you've been endorsed by Reed.
Soon after you submit your final application, you'll be sent instructions on how to complete and record a video interview as a required part of the application.
Semi-final interviews are held on Zoom and are usually held the last week of October. Twenty finalists will then be notified that they will interviewed, again via Zoom, before their final selection committee on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
