Campus Visit Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance can I sign up for a visit?
Our visit calendar opens for registration approximately 3 months in advance.
Why are there no visit options for my chosen date?
If there are no selections available for that date, we likely haven't opened our registration, are hosting a special event, or observing a holiday. You may call the admission office directly to schedule a visit if online registration is not available.
Do I need to register for a campus visit?
We recommend that prospective students register for a campus visit at least a week in advance, particularly if prospective students are interested in class visits, overnight options, or an interview.
However, we always welcome walk-in appointments for our information sessions and tours. Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes early for your visit.

A campus tour, guided by a current Reed student, is an opportunity to explore the environment in which you'll learn and live. Stops include a residence hall, campus landmarks, and academic buildings while learning more about the campus culture and traditions.

Campus tours are Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We offer select Saturday tours at 11:30 a.m. during the school year.
How long are campus tours?
Campus tours are approximately 50 minutes.
Can I schedule an interview?
On-campus interviews are available for high school seniors, transfer students, and second-semester high school juniors. Interviews are an optional application component and an opportunity for you to speak individually with one of our student interns or admission counselors in a relaxed setting for about 20 minutes. Interviews also help us learn more about you!
We do not offer interviews over weekends or during on-campus events. If you are unable to come to campus for an interview, please check our website to see when counselors or alumni will be hosting interviews in your area. For more information on interviews, please see our Interview FAQ.
Can I sit in on a class?
Seniors in high school and transfer students are welcome to sit in on classes during the school year. In order to register for a class visit, please fill out the online registration. We do not offer summer classes or weekend classes.
Class visits range from fifty minutes to one-hour and twenty minutes. If you are interested in attending an information session or tour with your class, please try to register for the morning sessions. We cannot guarantee class visits for prospective students who arrive at noon and register for the afternoon information session and tour. Class subject availability is dependent on the visit day and time. We make every effort to put prospective students into classes that are in their field of interest.
If you have further questions about class visits, please call or email our visit team at 503/777-7511 or email@example.com.
Can I stay overnight on campus?
Seniors in high school are welcome to stay one night on campus with a current Reed student host. We have overnight options available Sunday through Thursday during the school year. We provide meal tickets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you are a family member and are interested in staying in the Portland area, here are some suggestions for accommodations in the area. If you would like to receive an absence excuse slip, please ask for one at the front desk in the Admission Office. If you have further questions about overnight visits, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I go to lunch with a current Reed student?
All prospective students can have lunch with a current Reed student during the school year, Monday through Friday. We provide each prospective student with a meal ticket. While dining with current students is only available to the prospective student, we are happy to provide meal tickets to family members and guests so they can experience Reed's dining options.
