What is Junior Scholars?
Junior Scholars, Reed's spring travel scholarship, invites a highly qualified group of high school juniors from historically under-represented racial and ethnic backgrounds to visit Reed. All air travel, on-campus meals, and on-campus lodging will be covered by the college.
Visiting Reed is transformative. We have a saying here that "only Reed feels like Reed" and we make sure that all of our campus visitors have the opportunity to truly engage with our community.
As part of this program, Junior Scholars will be able to:
• stay two full days on campus including one overnight with a current Reed student in a residence hall;
• attend classes of interest;
• enjoy meals with current Reed students;
• learn more about Reed through an information session and campus tour.
When will Junior Scholars visit?
As part of your application, you will select dates when you are available to visit Reed between February 11 and March 21. Your stay will last two full days and include one overnight in the Reed residence halls. If you are accepted into the program, you will be contacted by the Reed Admission Office to arrange your visit on one of your preferred dates.
How do I apply?
Junior Scholars applications were due by Friday, January 25.
Completed applications will be reviewed in the first two weeks of February, and accepted candidates will be contacted directly to begin the travel arrangement process. All candidates will be notified of their fly-in status as soon as official decisions are made.
