Senior Scholars Program

What is the Senior Scholars Program?

The Senior Scholars Program is a yearlong, three-part engagement with our community. The program begins with a virtual introduction to campus that is open to all Senior Scholars applicants. Students who are admitted to Reed will then meet campus leaders and faculty during the second part of the program and receive a partially- or fully-funded travel voucher to visit Reed’s campus in the spring.

Senior Scholars is designed to answer the unique questions posed by underrepresented students and students of color. High-achieving high school seniors will learn about life at Reed and create lasting connections with current students and faculty.

Senior Scholar applicants who are admitted to Reed will:

  • Connect with college leaders.
  • Join faculty members for a Q&A about their conference-style classes and what it’s like to learn at Reed.
  • Hear from current students about their experiences inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Visit campus during a Reed Admit Day.

“Seniors Scholars changed my perspective on college. Getting to experience campus during the school year gave me a more intimate look at Reed that I couldn’t get just by touring. I had the chance to see what community looks like here and to visit cool places off campus. Senior Scholars removed the mystifying aura around college and gave me the opportunity to see myself at Reed.” KENNY '24
