Bon Appétit debuts new disposables program

In an effort to tread lightly on the planet, Bon Appétit has continued to make conscious choices each day that benefit our environment. Beginning January 2, 2020, we are launching a new disposables program at Reed College. Made of 100% renewable resources and BPI-certified compostable, VerTerra’s Dinnerware From Fallen Leaves™ is a sustainable alternative to disposable paper and plastic plates. No trees are ever harvested or cut down for this line. No chemicals, waxes, dyes or additives are applied. While it not compostable in the city of Portland (because unfortunately, no disposables are), it is the most sustainable option.

Thank you,

Matthew Talavera, general manager, Bon Appétit at Reed College
