A Tale of Portland's two Chinatowns: A talk with Dr. Jennifer Fang

SEEDS, in collaboration woth the Office of Instituional Diversity, has invited Dr. Jennifer Fang for the second event of the Collective Voices: Solidarity Series this fall.

Dr. Jennifer Fang will speak about the recently opened Portland Chinatown Museum and its permanent exhibition, "Beyond the Gate: A Tale of Portland’s Historic Chinatowns." She will discuss both the history of Portland’s Chinatowns and the development of the Portland Chinatown Museum project.

Jennifer Fang is the Assistant Director of the Portland Chinatown Museum, Associate Curator of Beyond the Gate: A Tale of Portland’s Historic Chinatowns, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of History at the University of Portland. In all of her work, Fang strives to make the complex histories of marginalized people accessible to a general audience.

The event will be happening in GCC C&D on September 25 from 7 to 8 p.m. Dinner will be served!
