Commencement Schedule

Soon campus will be flooded with families here to celebrate our seniors. Here's the basics of what you need to know about Commencement.

Schedule:

Commencement Eve Dinner: Sunday, May 13, 5:30–8:30 p.m., GCC Quad (tickets available at CEP)

Commencement Breakfast: Monday, May 14, 8:30–10:30 a.m., Commons (cash and credit accepted, no tickets required, open to all of campus)

Commencement Ceremony: Monday, May 14, 11 a.m., Tent in front of Eliot Hall (no tickets required)

Commencement Reception: Monday, May 14, immediately after the ceremony, GCC Quad (no tickets required)

Parking, pets, and hospitality:

Parents, friends, and family members will be here beginning this weekend to celebrate with the class of 2018. We ask you to help welcome our guests to campus.

Parking (and raffle!)

Help leave parking spaces for those attending commencement. Please try to bike, walk, ride the bus, get a ride, or Segway to campus on Monday, May 14. If you must drive, please park in the parking lot on the northeast corner of SE 28th & Steele, or at the Reedwood Friends Church parking lot. Shuttle service will run from parking lots to Eliot circle, 8 a.m.–11 a.m., 1–2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. on Monday.

All who ride the bus, walk, bike, or find a ride are elligible for great raffle prizes! Keep an eye on your inbox for the entry form.

Dogs on a leash

Please remember to keep your dog on a leash on Commencement day, as we will have nearly 3,000 guests on campus.

Commencement seating

If you attend the commencement ceremony, please leave the best seats for graduates’ friends and family.

Post-Commencement Reception

Please join us for the reception following the commencement ceremony, in the GCC quad. The reception will begin when the first graduate toasts his or her champagne. Come celebrate with the class of 2018!
