Sports Center pool temporarily closed
UPDATE:
The roof is secured in place, but the pool area will remain closed until further notice. All other areas of the gym are currently available for community use based on schedule. We are assessing the extent of the damage and will be designing a plan for repair.
ORIGINAL:
One of the five wooden roof trusses over the pool failed last evening. We have a structural engineer and contractor assessing the damage, but for everyone's safety we have closed the building. Please stay away from the Sport Center, especially the glass wall around the pool until we are able to get the roof properly supported.
The roof did not fail, and no one was harmed, but it is an unsafe condition and will take a few days to make it safe.
