Winter Clothing Donations for Low-Income Students

Every year, we are aware of students who struggle to find adequate outdoor gear for the rainy and cold season. To address this need, students from the Peer Mentor Program and Low SES/First Gen student group are organizing a winter clothing give away for low-income students. PMP and the Low SES/First Gen group will host an event in early November where students can come look through hats, coats, gloves, etc. and take what they need. No student will be turned away, but we are asking students to be mindful of only taking what they need and giving priority to those who cannot afford to buy winter clothes.

The first step, of course, is to gather gently used items that can be given away. I'm reaching out to faculty and staff to request donations. If you have any gently used hats, gloves, coats, scarves, boots, etc, that you would like to donate, please bring them to the Student Center between Wednesday, October 14 and Monday, November 2. You can bring items to Dayspring's office or leave them in the plastic bin next to the SEED's office on the main floor. If you know of students who would benefit from attending this event, it will be held on Tuesday, November 3, from 4-6pm in Gray Lounge. Students are welcome to contact Dayspring for more information about the event.

Thank you in advance for your support!
