Celebrate the Orange Line opening with free fares and more
Saturday, September 12
This event is open to the public.
Have you heard about the big celebration planned to mark the grand opening of Tri-Met’s new Orange line this Saturday? All MAX lines and bus routes are free that whole day; this is a great opportunity to get off campus and explore downtown or one of the many locations holding festive events. The MAX station closest to campus is on the Bybee Bridge; it is within walking distance, and once you get there, new elevators take you down to the light rail!
Zac Perry, canyon-restoration manager, will be volunteering at the event in Milwaukie, and it is set to include music, food carts, kids crafts, and other activities. Drop by to visit Zac and his children.
Take this opportunity to venture off campus while the weather is pleasant and experience the public-transit system that is the pride of Portland! See the full slate of celebratory offerings on Saturday, September 12.
