Join us for festivities at Reunions '14

Wednesday, June 4 - Sunday, June 8
campus
This event is open to the public.

Many alumni and friends will be arriving on campus from a variety of class years and locales, June 4–8, for Reunions/Reedfayre ’14.

We invite members of the Reed community to join in the fun all week long. Check out the wide range of activities online. Please note that some events require preregistration and payment before Friday, May 30; after that date, please call extension 7589 regarding availability.

We would be especially pleased to have you attend a few of our favorite events:

Thursday, June 5

5 p.m. Organic Farming, Genetics, and the Future of Food

Pam Ronald ’83 recently engaged in a debate with Michael Pollan in The New Yorker on this important subject. She delivers a formal talk to kick off the food track of Reunions.

Friday, June 6

1 p.m. President John R. Kroger presents “Mafia Hitmen I Have Known”

Earlier in his career, John had the somewhat unusual opportunity to get to know a number of mafia hitmen. He will talk about what it is like to spend time with people who kill other people for a living, touch upon the mafia life, the witness protection program, and other related matters leaving lots of time for questions.

4 p.m. Pre-Fanfayre hosted reception, Cerf amphitheatre

Fanfayre Friday kicks off with a reception back at Camp Reed. Sip on the signature cocktail of Plato’s punch (mocktails available as well), enjoy the music of Lauren Sheehan ’81, catch up with old friends, and stay for the main event.

4:30–5:15 p.m Fanfayre, Cerf amphitheatre

At this eighth-annual Reunions kick-off event, we are pleased to feature our delightful and humorous Yoram Bauman '95 as we say thank you to the following retirees for their combined 200 years of service to the college: Kathleen Worley, professor of theatre; Ronald McClard, Arthur F. Scott Professor of Chemistry; Ed McFarlane, vice president/treasurer; Rao Potluri, professor of mathematics; and Joe Roberts, F.L. Griffin Professor of Mathematics; also, the alumni association honors the Meat Smoke Crew and their 31 years of dedicated and tasty service as this year's recipients of the Jean L. Babson Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. Come for the fun, listen to the delightful Lauren Sheehan ’81, and raise a glass in honor of Reed.

Saturday, June 7

1:30 to 5 p.m. Reunions Carnival

Bring the family for fun and frivolity!

Looking forward to seeing you at the festivities.
