An Evening with Lynn Harrell and Portland Cello Project

Saturday, February 15
Kaul Auditorium
This event is open to the public.

Soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, conductor and teacher, Lynn Harrell performs and works with the world's leading orchestras, festivals, and up-and-coming musicians. He is a graduate of the Juillard School and the Curtis Institute of Music and has taught at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music since 2002. In 2010, he founded the HEARTbeats Foundation, a nonprofit that strives to help children in need harness the power of music to better cope with, and recover from, the extreme challenges of poverty and conflict. The Portland Cello Project has been captivating audiences worldwide since 2007. Their mission is threefold: to bring the cello to places you wouldn't normally hear it; to play music on the cello you wouldn't normally hear played on the instrument; and to build bridges across all musical communities by bringing a diverse assortment of musical collaborators on stage. The concert is free, but tickets are required for entry. General admission tickets are sold out, but the Reed community must reserve tickets, as well. Reserve yours soon, as those tickets are also going quickly!
