Developer Check film development chart
  • Tap the tank against the sink to dislodge air bubbles that cling to the film.
  • Agitate by inverting the tank 5 times during 5 sec.
  • From then on, agitate at a rate of about 5 inversion every 30 seconds.
  • Dispose developer in "Waste Developer" tank.
  • This process can be customized depending on your need or the film you are using.
Stop Bath 30 sec.
  • Agitate continuously
  • Return used stop bath to bulk tank
  • This process stops the action of the developer, and prevents fixer from rapid exhaustion.
Fixer 5 min
  • Agitate for first 30 sec, then for 5 sec for every 30 sec.
  • Drain used fixer to bulk tank.
  • Film is no longer light-sensitive after this process.
Rinse 30 sec
  • Rinse the film in the tank under running water.
Perma-wash (Hypo-clear) 1 - 2 min
  • Agitate for first 30 sec, then for 5 sec for every 30 sec.
  • Return to bulk tank.
  • Hypo-clear significantly shortens washing time
Wash 5 min
  • Wash film under running water. Water should flow fast enough to fill tank several times in 5 min.
  • If you did not use a washing agent (Perma-wash), wash for at least 20 min.
Photo-Flo 30 sec
  • Mix Photo-Flo stock solution 1:7 with water.
  • Gentle agitation for 5 seconds of the time.
  • Help prevent water spots
Dry
  • Pull film off reels, with clean fingers, squeeze off excess moisture.
  • Handle gently as wet film is easily scratched.
  • Hang film to dry.
Clean up
  • Wash out all containers, tanks, and reels when finished.
  • Make sure no spills or drips are left that could potentially contaminate someone else's work.
