Introduction to Simulation

Often we wish to know how some random process behaves, but can't derive its properties mathematically. For example, we may wish to know the properties of a statistical procedure like under special non-standard conditions, or we want to study the distribution of outcomes from some complicated process.

The first section covers some basic probablity distributions, and generating random samples from those distributions. The second section presents examples of simulation studies.
