1873 Le Plongeon

Photographs of Uxmal taken by Augustus and/or Alice Dixon Le Plongeon, 1873-1881. Most of the inscriptions were written by the Le Plongeon or a past owner, Maude Alice Blackwell. The size of the photographic images ranges from 3 1/2 x 3 1/4 in. to 3 15/16 x 4 7/8 in. (the 2 stereo photographs together measure 3 1/2 x 6 9/16 in.). These are scans from high quality 35mm slides provided by the Getty Research Institute from original photographs in their collection.
