Map 5

This area northwest of the Grove residence halls is a beautiful place to visit. It has a wide variety
of trees and the only corkscrew willow on campus.
Just 20 feet
south of this map is the spot where the college transplanted the large
stump of a ginkgo. The tree itself had been cut down to make room for
development in another part of Portland, but the college agreed to accept
the stump and see if it would grow again. The shoots from the trunk are
now about 15 feet high.
