Coach: Larry Beutler
The Reed men’s soccer team (Reed FC) plays a schedule of competitive games in the fall and spring against a loosely-formed association of independent college club teams from around the Pacific Northwest. Home games are played on the Steele Street pitch, with matches attended by many students, faculty and neighbors from the surrounding community. Reed FC is comprised of students from many different countries, who combine to create a fast-paced and exciting style of play.
Men’s Soccer Team
In 2010, Reed FC finished just two points out of first place in the Cascade Collegiate Soccer League (CCSL) Second Division. This Division included club teams from Portland Community College, Western Oregon University, Central Oregon Community College, Mt. Angel Seminary, Willamette University and Linn-Benton Community College. The team ended the year with 6 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie, with the noted distinction of beating every team in the Division. Unfortunately, because of a loss at Mt. Angel due to being short-handed, Reed FC did not qualify for advancement into the Premier Division, and will play in the Second Division again in 2012.
Reed FC is looking forward to another strong and competitive year in 2012, and expects to compete for the Division championship once again. This year will also see the return of the classic grudge match between arch rivals Reed FC and Lewis and Clark College.
