Bernadette Diepenbrock brings limitless enthusiasm and experience to basketball, drawing from her diverse background as a coach, teacher, player and promoter at the youth, high school, college and international levels.
Previously in California, her coaching experience included stints as the Varsity Coach at Burlingame High School where she led the Panthers to a two second place league finishes, a league championship and to the Central Coast Section Finals in 1995. Bernadette also coached three years of Varsity Basketball at Mills High School in California.
Currently a Physical Education teacher, Bernadette brings a strong teaching element to her coaching style. She played four years at forward for the University of California San Diego, making the transition from playing point guard in high school and experiencing the game from two very different perspectives. She played internationally in Fiji, with a California traveling team throughout Scandinavia and in Sicily with a team from Denmark. Bernadette was also a member of the Advisory Committee for the American Basketball League, which was the precursor to the WNBA.
In addition to coaching at Reed, Bernadette is also the JV Women’s Basketball Coach at Grant High School in Portland.
