Mary is delighted that you’re considering Pilates class. She is passionate about the benefits of Pilates. Pilates is a system of exercise founded by Joseph Pilates. Pilates is designed to enhance your physical strength, flexibility, posture, and mental awareness. The class will focus on strengthening your core muscles. Core muscles include your back, abdomen and hips. Concentration, Control, Centering, Precision, Breathing and Flow are the six principles of Pilates. Classes are multilevel and modifiable to student needs. Each student is able to progress according to their own ability. Please wear comfortable gym or yoga-style clothes. You can wear stockings or go barefoot.
Mary is certified as a Full Apparatus Pilates Instructor. She also teaches Mat Pilates at Springwater Pilates and Movement Studio in Sellwood, Oregon. Mary is also a MELT Method Instructor and sometimes incorporates MELT techniques into her classes. MELT is the first neurofascial self-treatment technique.
