SEEDS: Students for Education, Empowerment, & Direct Service

SEEDS Programs

volunteer imageIn addition to special programs like blood drives and the MLK Day of Service, SEEDS has formed ongoing relationships with many organizations covering a wide range of interests. Each program is led by a student intern and sustained by Reed volunteers.

As with other organizations, on-going work with these programs often qualifies for Federal Work Study off-campus community service internships.

Not seeing something above that interests you? Non-profit organizations in Portland seeking Reed students as Federal Work Study interns or as volunteers post requests to the off-campus federal work study and volunteer listings section of IRIS. For volunteers, the contact information is all you need to get started. For those with FWS funds, SEEDS, Career Services and Financial Aid coordinate off-campus work study. If you have FWS funds and find a placement you're interested in, please see the Off-Campus Federal Work Study page to learn more about the process and get started.

For additional internship listings locally, nationally, and internationally, please visit the Career Services website.

Note: Many internships on the Career Services website are not eligible for Federal Work-Study placement. Please check with the SEEDS office to see if internships qualify.
