Lennon Day-Reynolds '03

Lennon Day-Reynolds has studied at Reed, worked at Reed, and is returning to Reed to help current students explore the liberal arts in the truest sense. While a student at Reed, Lennon studied music, math, and the connections between them. He has continued to explore and expand that relationship—often in collaboration with other Reedies—through his far-reaching work in the technical sector.

Lennon has worked in diverse areas of software development, including web, mobile, and systems programming in small and large enterprises. He has developed consumer software used by millions of people and business systems generating billions of dollars in revenue. He has alternated between academia and industry to build his knowledge of computer science, engineering, and business.

Lennon has also managed engineering and product teams of three to forty-five members and been deeply involved in hiring, training, and ongoing development across those teams.

Most recently Lennon worked as the Director of Engineering at Urban Airship in Portland, where he remains a member of their staff as a senior technical advisor. Previously he was employed as an engineer and manager at Twitter, Sun Microsystems, Dark Horse Comics, and a variety of smaller startups and nonprofits. Lennon also worked as a member of technical staff in Reed's computing and information services department from 2005 to 2008.
