Events scheduled for Black History Month at Reed this February have included lectures by former U.S. Congressman Harold Ford Jr., chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council; author, scholar, and policy analyst Mary Frances Berry; and artist and author Faith Ringgold. The Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery has mounted a month-long exhibition titled Working History, featuring work by artists including Nick Cave, Sam Durant, Kianga Ford, David Hammons, Glenn Ligon, Dave McKenzie, Lorraine O’Grady, Io Palmer, Adrian Piper, Faith Ringgold, Kara Walker, and Fred Wilson.
