Reed Tours

A “Beer & Baroque” tour of Germany is on tap for October 1–11, 2006. This 10-day tour with Ottomar Rudolf, professor emeritus of German and humanities, offers travelers the unique opportunity to explore art, architecture, music, and cuisine from Heidelberg to Munich.

And mark your playbill for a theatrical visit to Ashland, Oregon, July 14–16. English professor Roger Porter will lead a stimulating weekend at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, with three plays on the schedule: The Winter’s Tale, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Cyrano de Bergerac. The trip features conference discussions of the texts and film adaptations.

Details on both programs are at www.reed.edu/alumni/travel.html.

Alumni Directory Coming in April

The 2006 alumni directory published in cooperation with Harris Connect will be mailed this spring to the 1,500 alumni who placed orders. The project began in August 2005 with the goal of collecting current information on our 14,000-plus alumni. As of December 31, more than 8,000 alumni had updated their records, which will help Reed’s career services, foundation relations, institutional research, and development efforts.

ReedLink

Reed’s online alumni directory, ReedLink, includes class notes, volunteer and job opportunities, and contact information for fellow alumni. Reunion-year class albums are posted as well.

New registrants must enter their Reed ID (the six-digit number on the mailing label of the Reed magazine) and birthdate to get started. Go to https://iris.reed.edu.
