Jon Rivenburg pictureJon Rivenburg, Reed’s director of institutional research, has been elected chairman of the board for the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS). HEDS is a voluntary not-for-profit organization that assists member institutions in their planning, management, and institutional research by sharing information and providing other services including special studies, research reports, and member conferences concerning national and governmental trends. The membership encompasses 138 institutions spanning baccalaureate colleges to research universities. The nine-member board directs the data sharing activities of the membership and oversees the research activities of the consortium’s executive director and staff, housed at “HEDS-quarters” at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Rivenburg has been director of institutional research at Reed since 1988, in a position established by trustee Daniel Greenberg ’62 and his wife, Susan Steinhauser. He also served as acting registrar in 1993 and as acting dean of admission from 1995 to 1997. End of Article
