An essay by religion major Brannon Ingram 03 has won the American Academy of Religion regional prize for best undergraduate paper. Ingram, who came to Reed from Jackson, Mississippi, examined how Schelling revised his concepts of freedom through different readings of Boehme over the course of his career. Ingram is one of two Reed students who have won this first prize in the last four years: Anne Oravetz 98 won in 1997 for her paper on Leibniz and mysticism. |
