Former trustee Helen Dayle Thorsen ’24 dies

Former alumni trustee Helen Dayle Thorsen ’24 died in December at age 101. She was born July 13, 1902, and lived in Portland all her life. After graduating from Reed she became a partner in Fisher, Thorsen and Company, the family wholesale paint manufacturing concern, until the company was sold in 1958 to a national chain. She served on the Reed board of trustees from 1951 to 1953. After retiring in 1961 she devoted her time to charity, recreation, and travel.
