Children's holiday party

Santa (Chris Melhus '97) and his enthralled entourage at the children's holiday party.

The children's holiday party was a great success this year, with more than 65 children and 100 parents in attendance. Robert Shulevitz '84 taught the children how to play dreidel with chocolate "gelt," and Janan (Abdo) Stoll '78 made sure all the children had a good time at the ornament-making table. Robin Wright '79 and Merri (Baehr) Whipps '85 helped again this year, and Jill Hummelstein '84 demonstrated how faces can be painted to be beautiful holiday decorations. The afternoon's performance was provided by Kids Company Northwest, a local children's song, dance, and acting troupe. Santa Claus made the final, much-anticipated guest appearance, delighting the children and handing out presents. Gifts and canned goods were collected for Raphael House, an organization that provides assistance for women and their children fleeing abusive homes.
