New Assistant in Alumni & Parent Relations
Alumni & parent relations is pleased to announce that Todd Hesse has joined its merry band as assistant. Todd comes to Reed from Portland State University (PSU), where he distinguished himself on the telecommunications team as a deft troubleshooter with exceptional customer service. Laura Miller ’92 is pursuing new avenues and taking classes at PSU; we wish her well and hope that she’ll enjoy attending local alumni gatherings—off the clock.

Important IRIS Change: New Login Protocol
Reed’s Integrated Reed Information System (IRIS) includes the online alumni directory, class notes, volunteer and job opportunities, and contact information for fellow alumni. To enhance security of this information and ease of access for users, Reed has adopted a Kerberos protocol for logging into IRIS.
To continue to access the online directory and other services, you must create a Kerberos account. The good news? You will be able to create and use a username, rather than having to remember your Reed ID, when you visit iris.reed.edu. What will your username be? doyle_owl? p_doyle? puffowl? This is your chance to lay claim to a good one!
Go to iris.reed.edu and click “create an account” in the box in the left column.
You will need your Reed ID and some other information about yourself to create the account. If you are unable to locate your Reed ID number, please click on the “help” link in the upper right corner of the IRIS home page. Once your Kerberos account has been created, just log in using your new Kerberos username and password. If you have used IRIS at any time in the past, your settings will be preserved. Once your account has been created, you will only be able to use your Kerberos username and password.
Alumni may use their existing IRIS login until January 13, 2009. However, alumni are encouraged to create a Kerberos account as soon as possible. The sooner you do, the more likely you’ll get the username of your choice.
