Thoeresz 87 is new director of development
Thoeresz 87, former director ofdevelopment at the Catlin Gabel School
in Portland, Oregon, has joined the Reed staff as directorof development.
In the recently completed Campaign for Reed College, we raised over
$50 million from friends and alumni in
the Pacific Northwest, said Hugh Porter, vice president of college
relations. With her strong experience developing philanthropy in
Oregon and Washington, Johanna will help us continue to build our important
sources of regional support.
Thoereszs responsibilities at Reed will include leading and managing
the development program, providing support to the trustees development
committee, and overseeing the annual fund, corporate and foundation relations,
major gifts, planned giving, and development research.
As a student, my professors at Reed inspired my creativity and wholehearted
effort. I hope to contribute these qualities to the colleges advancement
and look forward to being a part of the public affairs and development
teama group of professionals I already respect enormously,
