The library is the heart of the Reed world
Part of the essence of libraries is that they are both a tangible and a symbolic connection between our past and our future. Libraries allow the scholars of today to converse with the scholars of the past and help direct the scholarship of the future.

Reed's library has gone through a number of stages in evolving from its earliest days in a room in Eliot Hall to the 1989 addition, which incorporated all the science collections under one roof.
