DelBene and Rieschel
join board of trustees

Two new trustees were elected to the board of trustees at its October meeting. Both trustees will serve a five-year renewable term.

Suzan DelBene ’83 is CEO of Nimble Techno-logy in Seattle, Washington. Before joining Nimble Technology, DelBene was vice president of marketing at drugstore.com, director of marketing and business development in Microsoft’s interactive media group, director of business development for Internet Explorer, and manager of the consumer marketing group for Windows 95 and Internet Explorer. DelBene has also worked in immunology research at ZymoGenetics, Inc. and has been a member of the Reed College national advisory council since 1999. She received her B.A. from Reed in biology and her M.B.A. from the University of Washington in 1990.

Gary Rieschel ’79 is executive managing director and general partner of SOFTBANK Venture Capital in Mountain View, California. SOFTBANK manages over $4 billion in U.S. venture capital funds, focusing primarily on early-stage technology companies. Previously Rieschel was vice president of marketing for nCUBE, director of Worldwide Channels for Cisco Systems, and director and general manager of Sequent Computer Systems. He has been a member of the Reed College technology advisory council since 1997. He received his B.A. from Reed in biology and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1984.
