Professor Maria Gough of Stanford University lectures on "Lissitzky, Vertov, and the Agitation of Space," November 9



Dr. Maria Gough, of Stanford University, is assistant professor of 20th-century European art and theory with a special focus on Russian and French art; post-war American art; and feminist art and theory. Her publications include essays in "October," "Res: Journal of Anthropology and Aesthetics," and "Les Cahiers du Musée national d'art moderne." She is the author of “The Artist as Producer: Russian Constructivism in Revolution,” published by the University of California Press in 2005. Also in preparation (with Pamela Lee, Stanford University) is an anthology of primary sources on art and technology.
