RICHARD CUTHBERT ’73 JOINS REED BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Richard Cuthbert ’73, senior director and economist for R.W. Beck, Inc, has been named to the Reed College board of trustees. Appointed at the board of trustees meeting on April 21, Cuthbert will serve a four-year term.
As a longtime employee of R.W. Beck, Cuthbert oversees financial and economic assignments for water and electric utilities both in the U.S. and internationally. Before working with R.W. Beck, he worked as a private economic consultant and served with the Peace Corps in Nepal. He has also served as president of the Seattle Economists Club, a local affiliation of the National Association of Business Economists. Cuthbert, an anthropology major at Reed, earned his M.S. in resource economics from Oregon State University and currently resides in Seattle, Washington.
Cuthbert has dedicated much time and energy to Reed. He is known for his generous volunteering and dedicated commitment. He has served a term both as president of the alumni association in 1998 and as secretary of the alumni board in 1994. Cuthbert is also a member of Reed’s national advisory committee.
